2023 Calls Overview

2023 Calls Overview

Conference Theme

The Belfast 2023 conference theme is “Forward Thinking in Sport Management: Strengthening Inclusivity, Accessibility and Sustainability in Sport.” In this respect, submissions that particularly, but not exclusively, relate to the conference theme are warmly encouraged. Contributors also have the opportunity to present submissions not specifically related to the conference theme in Parallel Sessions during the conference.

The main aim of all conference sessions is to encourage participants from across fields to share knowledge, provide new insights and inspire the future of sport management. Sessions also offer a platform to create inter- and cross-disciplinary contacts and collaborations.

Types of Contributions

The Scientific and Programme Committee of the 31st European Sport Management Conference of the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) invites scholars and practitioners to submit contributions for consideration.

The first contribution will include a call for Workshops which we are delighted to reinstate for EASM 2023 in Belfast.  This call opens on 1st December 2022 and closes on the 16th of January 2023 (23:59 CET). Selected workshops will be added to the website prior to the call for papers opening.

The second contribution will include a call for Oral Papers which will open on the 1st of February 2023 and now closes on the 28th April 2023 (23.59 CET)

We also invite short papers to be considered for the EASM Best Conference Paper Award 2023 and for the ESMQ New Researcher Award 2023 for aspiring scholars. Excellent reviewers who contribute to the assessment and progression of their colleagues’ work as part of the peer-review process will be awarded with the EASM Best Conference Reviewer Award 2023.
